Newspapers widen the perspective of students by bringing to them news from around the world. Regular newspaper reading improves and hones language skills.

 

Workshops and seminars organized at regular intervals by newspapers as part of their NIE programs teach stress management and public speaking and groom students so that they grow up to be confident and responsible human beings.

 

IL&FS ETS  / ICICI Bank

IL&FS Education and Technology Services Ltd, the education arm of IL&FS Limited, is actively involved in imparting knowledge and skills to school children across the country. It has designed a program on financial management and governance with input from its partner ICICI Bank Ltd.

 

The comprehensive program, conducted for the students of classes 5 to 8, served as an eye-opener. Information pertaining to bank accounts and their operation, cheques and their utility, the functioning of ATMs, stock markets etc. imparted during the program has made our students finance savvy.

 

ICAI

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India counsels our students with a view to increase their awareness about the Chartered Accountancy course and career options available to chartered accountants. Their lucid presentation saw many of our students revise their career plans and make chartered accountancy their top career choice.

 

Ramakrishna Mission

The Ramakrishna mission with the motto "for one's own salvation, and for the welfare of the world", has played an important role in instilling in our students empathy, compassion and respect for the less privileged. Lecture sessions held by them in the school premises have inculcated in our students respect for work. The essay writing competitions conducted by the mission have made our students delve deep into the lives and teachings of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda and emerge more tolerant.

 

CNDP

Coalition for Nuclear Disarmament and Peace is a national coalition of organizations and individuals in India committed to and working for nuclear disarmament. Through its slogan, poem and writing competitions, CNDP has encouraged our students to put their thinking caps on, contemplate and debate the ramifications of the global stockpiling of nuclear weapons. Discussions on nuclear disarmaments have made our students passionate advocates of a nuclear weapon free world.

 

HRIDAY – SHAN

Health Related Information Dissemination Amongst Youth Student Health Action Network is a voluntary organisation of health professionals and social scientists that works in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, to promote health awareness and informed health activism among youth in India.

 

Various activities organized by HRIDAY SHAN in the school under the capital’s first year-long campaign - “Delhi Active – Daily Active” (DADA) have made our students physically more active and attach greater importance to outdoor sports.
